Men’s Conference Ends Successfully

A three-day men’s conference took place in Bibisu, central Kwara’ae, Malaita province. It was organized by the Northern region of the Assemblies of God for its male members and concluded on a high note. Men from East Kwara’ae, North Malaita, and West Kwaio attended the program.

According to a statement received by Malaita News, the men who participated in the conference were greatly blessed by the teachings of Pastor Trevor Rubie, who came all the way from Australia to share the word of God during the three days. The conference focused on the theme “Mighty Warrior,” based on a passage from Judges 6:1-20.

The conference aimed to address the issue that many men today lack a clear sense of purpose, which hampers the well-being of their families and the nation as a whole. Pastor Rubie stressed the importance of young people understanding their roles and acting with determination, like warriors.

“I want to encourage young men who attended this program to know your positions as the foundation of your families and the nation,” he said.

He emphasized that failing to understand and fulfill their roles can lead to problems for the family, as men serve as its foundation. Pastor Rubie explained that although warriors may face challenges and feel weak at times, they should not give up. Instead, they should rise above difficulties and continue fighting until they succeed.

“Not knowing your purpose often causes families and nations to struggle. We often underestimate ourselves when faced with trials, but we must overcome those challenges and keep moving forward,” he added.

Clement Ofai, the Chairperson of the Northern Region Men’s Fellowship Ministry, expressed his satisfaction with the conference’s success. This was the first men’s conference since its revival last year.

Mr. Ofai shared that the men’s ministry in the Northern region of Malaita’s Assemblies of God was reestablished in October 2022, and they were thrilled to host this event. Bringing men together was a positive step, and they were blessed throughout the entire conference.

He also announced that they would continue the conference next year, hosting it in North Malaita.

Mr. Ofai encouraged more men to join the conference next year and benefit from the powerful messages shared during the program.

More than 70 men attend the program.
