Gwaunafiu Farmers School in Central Kwara’ae, Malaita Province successfully completes its second training session for 20 farmers from Ngaliabu and Aitolo communities.

This one-day program focused on practical, organic farming techniques to help farmers build climate resilience and secure their food resources.

The training covered crucial topics such as how climate change affects soil, soil management, farm technologies, and food security.

During the session, participant Rose Kabolo expressed her appreciation, thanking facilitator Lionel Maeliu for delivering powerful knowledge.

“Mr. Maeliu’s insights on soil management and food security will really help us strengthen our farms,” Kabolo said.

Maeliu thanked everyone for their active participation and acknowledged Kastom Gaden Association’s support in making the training possible.

“After almost ten years of silence, this is a big step forward for Gwaunafiu,” he stated.

“We are now back, training our farmers to protect food resources and face climate challenges.”

This training marks another success in Gwaunafiu’s effort to teach organic farming skills to local farmers, contributing to a healthier food future for the community.
